ONE OF OUR KARE KITS FAMILIES NEEDS YOUR HELP

We are reaching out to ask for help for one of our kare kit families. This family consists of a Dad, Mom, two sons and a daughter. The children are in middle and high school. This family currently lives in a motel in Leominster and has been there for over a year and a half.

First we would like to say that they DO NOT get any state or government assistance because BOTH PARENTS WORK and they make too much money to qualify for assistance. Even though they both work full time, what they make is minimum, and they have not been able to save money for the required security deposit, first and last month rent required to move into an apartment. They currently pay $245 each week to live in one room, so they can afford to pay for an apartment if they can only get help with the money required to move in.

We have spent a lot of time with the children in this family and there living situation is extremely difficult for them. They all live in one room and one child sleeps on the floor as there are only two beds. This hotel is an awful environment ~ cider block walls, no windows…. and these children deserve a better living environment! This family deserves help from the state but they do not qualify. In our eyes this is the type of family that SHOULD receive help!! They both work very hard!! They need a hand up not a hand out!!

They have the opportunity to move into an apartment on June 1st but need help coming us with the required deposit for first month rent , last month rent and security deposit. We are asking for donations specifically for this family so they do not lose the opportunity to rent this apartment.
