ONE OF THE KARE KITS FAMILIES NEEDS OUR HELP!!
We have some very exciting news to share. One of our kare kits families that has spent the past 19 months in one of the hotels in Leominster has gotten an apartment!! We have come to know the family quite well over the past year and a half and are so excited for them!! Unfortunately due to their circumstances they do not have anything to bring with them to their new apartment. :( We are reaching out to see if our community can pull together and see what we can do to help. So we are asking that if any of you have any household furnishings that you don't need and if you would be willing to help them out to please reach out to us. They need everything: glasses, dishes, kitchen utensils, pots & pans, bath towels, hand towels, face cloths, kitchen towels, silverware, mugs, bowls, colander, blankets, comforters, sheets (don't know what sizes yet as they do not have any beds yet), curtains, lamps, furniture: kitchen, living room and bedroom. They are a family of 7 and have 5 children: a son in kindergarten, two daughters in elementary school and two daughters in middle school. They do not have any furniture at all so they will graciously accept any donations. Please look in your basements and attics and see if there is anything that you could donate to this family. I will do my best to keep an updated list on facebook as to what donations we have received and what is still needed. They hopefully will be moving into their home on March 1st and we would love to be able to help them furnish their home! Thank you so much for considering helping one of our families!!

WE NEED YOUR HELP AGAIN!!
The number of children needing our help continues to grow each week. We have added 4 new children this week and have just been informed that there is an additional 18 needing our help!! You read that correctly an additional 18!!! Increasing our load by that many is very costly and we are asking, once again, if any of you are able to make any type of a donation it would b...e greatly appreciated! Donating a box of macaroi & cheese, a can of Spaghettio's, spare change, a dollar....... everything adds up!! If you know of anyone who might do a food drive for us that would be fantastic!! Donations can be made by individuals, businesses, sports clubs, organizations.... Remember we are a nonprofit organization 501 (c) (3) so all donations are tax deductible. Some of the items we use in our kare kits are juice boxes, fruit cups, applesauce cups, pudding cups, macaroni & cheese, individual boxes of cereal, Chef Boyardee and Spaghettio products, granola bars, peanut butter crackers, fruit snacks, individual packets of cookies, crackers, pretzels... Thank you for considering helping us to help the children in our community!!

IT WAS A WRAP AND A FUN ONE TOO!!
On Sunday December 15th, after the snow storm had stopped, we wrapped many of the donated gifts for the kare kits kidz with the help of a tremendous group of friends! It was a fun night had by all!! We would like to thank the following friends for all their help!!

SANTA MISSION 2013
We would like to thank everyone who has helped us with our Santa Mission for the kare kits kidz!! We would not have been able to provide Christmas gifts to the 122 kare kits kidz without the help of all of you!! The out pouring of support from the community has been overwhelming this holiday season and we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts! We wish we knew the names of all of the people who helped us but you all know who you are. Thanks to all of you there will be 122 children waking up to a wonderful holiday!! CHILDREN'S SMILE COALITION, INC YOUNG HEROES RECOGNITION NIGHT ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 26TH, 2013
Thank you to Mary Ellen Wessell the founder of Children's Smile Coalition, Inc for a fabulous evening and for making the recipients of her award feel truly special. She recognized ten young individuals from throughout Massachusetts for their community service and for making a difference in their communities. She awarded each with a Young Hero Award.They also received keys to the City of Worcester, citations from Governor Deval Patrick and Congressman James McGovern and other gifts. Thank you Mary Ellen!!

We would like to say thank you to Mrs. Lisa Sciacca, Mrs. Michelle Lutter and Father Dennis for reaching out to us and offering their help with our mission! On Saturday October 26th the 7th grade retreat students will be packing 420 kare kits which will provide 4 weeks of food for the children. The generosity of the parish is greatly appreciated. Thank you to Mt Wachusett Community College and the United Way's Youth Venture for awarding us their Changemaker of the Year Award at their Fall Kick Off Celebration On Friday, October 18, 2013. The team was so surprised when we were called to the stage at the College to receive the award. Thank you so much for honoring us with this award. It meant so much to all of us!!

DOUGH RAISER AT UNO'S RESTAURANT ON OCTOBER 17TH
Kylee's Kare Kits for Kidz is off to a great start this school year! We are currently providing kare kits to 105 children in the Leominster school system! We have more than doubled the number from last school year when we were providing kare kits to 50 children. We are in great need of additional funds in order to be able to continue to feed the children throughout the school year and we need your help!
We would like to ask you, once again, to support our teams mission. We would like to invite you to come and support a DOUGH RAISER to benefit Kylee's Kare Kits for Kidz at Uno's located at 905 Merriam Ave in Leominster (Twin City Mall) on Thursday, October 17th. You can Dine In or Take Out. You must present a Dough Raiser coupon to your server and Uno's will donate up to 20% of your check to Kylee's Kare Kits for Kidz!! Feel free to contact us by email at kyleeskarekitsforkidz1@gmail.com and we will email you a dough raiser coupon for the event. You can also inform your waitress that you need a coupon and they should be able to provide you with one. This fundraiser will be for the entire day - from open until close.
Please share this information with your friends and family and invite them to join us on October 17th!

CHANNEL 7 NEWS VISITS SKY VIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL TO SURPRISE KYLEE WITH THEIR CLASS ACT AWARD!!
Channel 7 News came to Sky View Middle School on Thursday October 3rd to surprise Kylee with their Class Act award!! Thanks to Channel 7, Christa Delcamp, Kayna Whitworth, Kelly Henry, Andy Dubrovsky and Brian Albushies!! It was a fantastic day for Kylee's Kare Kits for Kidz, Kylee, the kare kits team and Sky View too!! We are very proud of all the girls have accomplished. The piece is scheduled to air on Friday, October 18th on Channel 7 during the morning news. We are hoping to receive a link to the piece after it airs and will be sure to post it. We would like to thank everyone who came by to see us yesterday at the Johnny Appleseed Festival!! With the support of our community and some very special people we raised $647 for the kare kits!!! With this money we can provide kare kits to 6 children for the school year!! A special thanks to our friend, Clara Miller the owner of Manestream Day Spa in Leominster and her crew - Gabrielle LaPosta, Tiana Meehan, Heather O'Halloran and Clara's daughter Tory for supporting Kylee's Kare Kits for Kidz! SKY VIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS HELP PACKAGE 20,000 MEALS TO FIGHT HUNGER
What a fantastic day this was!! Kylee's Kare Kits for Kidz teamed up with Sky View Middle School, The United Way and Matthew Martin of Outreach - Kids Care to package 20,000 meals of macaroni and cheese that were distributed to food pantries throughout Northern Central MA! Approximately 120 Sky View Middle School students and 20 adult volunteers worked for three hours to accomplish this! The students did a fabulous job and enjoyed the day! We are hoping to make this an annual event at Sky View on the United Ways Day of Caring. Thank you to Sky View families and faculty for raising $1,896.73 and to Southeast Elementary School for donating $348 from their hat day to help defray the cost of this event!! Thank you to everyone who helped us today to fight hunger in our community you all are hunger hereos!!

With the start of the new school year we are, once again, in need of your support. Last school year and throughout the summer we provided kare kits to 50 elementary school children in Leominster. We currently are providing kare kits to 70 children with more to come as the guidance counselors determine who is in need. We appreciate all the support during our first year but with the start of a new year we are in great need of donations to help provide the kare kits again this school year. My name is Kylee McCumber. I am a sixth grade student in the Leominster Public School system. I am asking for your help with a Non-Profit Community Service Project that I started in September of 2012. In the spring of 2012, at the age of ten, I became aware of the fact that there were many children in my school that were less fortunate than me. One in seven children is food insecure meaning they do not have the security of knowing where their next meal will come from. Many children depend on the breakfast and lunch provided at school for the food they will receive. I began to wonder what they do when they go home on the weekends and may not have enough food.
After a discussion with my grandmother, Lori Bateman, and our school principal we decided that we would start the program Kylee’s Kare Kits for Kidz. Our mission is to provide individual Kare Kits with nonperishable, nutritious food items to as many children as possible on a weekly basis. With the help of my grandmother and my team of friends and volunteers we prepare the Kare Kits. Every Friday during the school year we distribute these kits to children in need, in our community, so they will have food for the weekend. We were able to continue this throughout the summer as well! We currently provide kare kits to over seventy elementary school aged children every Friday! At this time we cannot help everyone in need because we do not have enough funds and that is why we need your help!!
We estimate the cost per child, for the school year, to be $100. We provide juice boxes, cereal, applesauce, fruit cups, pudding, crackers, granola bars, raisins, fruit snacks, macaroni and cheese, chicken noodle soup, Beef ravioli…. in these kare kits. This would not be possible without the help from our community. We are looking for individuals and organizations willing to sponsor a child for the school year. If you are unable to sponsor a child any donation would be greatly appreciated. Every dollar counts! It is important that you understand that 100% of your donation will go to purchase food for a child. We will continue to grow one kare kit at a time as the funds become available. Please help us by sharing this information with your friends and family.
There are so many children in need of help. They realize that their situations are different from many of the children they attend school with. They will not know who we are yet they will know someone cares! We may never know how much this program means to the children.

We are excited to be participating in the 20th anniversary of the Johnny Appleseed Festival in downtown Leominster on Saturday, September 28th from 9 am to 5 pm! Please stop by our booth that day. We will be selling lollipops and candy necklaces for $1. We would like to announce that
Kylee's Kare Kits for Kidz, the United Way & Sky View Middle School in
Leominster are teaming up for a Day of Caring event on Thursday, September
19th. On that day, at Sky View Middle School, we will pack 20,000 meals
of macaroni and cheese that will be donated to the food pantries within

COMEDY FUNDRAISER IS A HUGE SUCCESS!!!!!
We are very happy
to announce that the Comedy Fundraiser held on Sunday, September 8th at
Destare in Fitchburg was a huge success!! We raised over $3500!!! Destare was
packed to the brim with fabulous members of our community supporting the
cause. We would like to thank Paulie Chlebecek and the Destare crew of
Melissa, Michelle and CJ for allowing us to hold the event there and for
their hard work! We would like to send out a HUGE thank you to Jerry Caruso
and his group of taleted comedians ~ Chris Poublon, Katie Grady, Krista

to continue providing the kare kits to the children throughout the summer
break. The kare kits will be deliverd to the Spanish American Center in

Thank you, thank you, thank you to
all the local businesses and individuals within our community for their
support of our fundraising dance on Thursday night. It was a huge success and
we raised alot of money to help provide kare kits to the children for next
school year!! Also thank you to the school administrators, teachers, guidance
counselors, and other staff members who volunteered their time to sell
tickets, chaperone and help out in any way with the dance. Thank you to Mr
Larry Zuaro, Southeast School's Music teacher, who provided the fantastic
music for the evening. Thank you to Mr. Tim Blake for allowing us to hold the
dance at Sky View Middle School. Thank you to the custodians of the school
for all their work. We couldn't have done this without all of your support.
Thank you to all the children and their families who came out to the dance.

I have some very exciting news to
share with all of you! I would like to announce that today I found out that
Kylee’s Kare Kits for Kidz was the grand prize winner in the United Way’s
Community Builders Star Project Competition!!
First I would like to thank Karen
Oliveira, Leidy Restrepo and the staff at the United Way and Community
Builders for offering me the opportunity to enter this contest. They have
been so helpful and supportive and I appreciate it very much!
I would like to thank the entire Leominster
Public School System, all the city employees and school children as well as
the many businesses and people in our community who helped us to win the
grand prize! You were all so amazing when I reached out for your support.
I want to thank everyone who voted!
The fact that so many of you voted for our star project is the reason that we
won. This was a community effort not just an effort of the Kare Kits Team.
Thank you so much for supporting us!
Lastly I want to thank the kare kits
team- Brenda Menjivar, Emily Brown, Olivia Gallo, Ava and Chloe D’Eon, Mia
Losey and Katerina Zahariadis, our families and friends for your support as
well. Without all of you we wouldn’t be where we are today being able to help
so many children.
The grand prize of $1000 will provide
kare kits to ten children next school year, as it is estimated to cost $100
per school year for each child to receive a kare kit every weekend. This is a
great start for us for next year. This year we provided kare kits to 50
children. We are hoping to be able to provide them to more children next year

service projects in this competiton. During the week of May 6th until the
10th the United Way's site will hold voting for the best Star Project. The
winner will receive $1000 for their community service project! Voting
will begin on Monday, May 6th at 9 am and close on Friday, May 10th
at 5 pm. Each individual is allowed to vote once. Please

The kare kits team would like to
thank everyone who participated in the May Basket fundraiser at CVS Pharmacy
today! We raised $535!!! We greatly appreciate the manager of CVS on
Nelson Street in Leominster for allowing us to hold our fundraiser at their location.
Thank you to everyone who purchased a basket as each basket purchased will
provide a kare kit to a child in need for a weekend! We also would like to
thank Joanna & Vicki, our new Fitchburg State University friends for
volunteering to help us today. After the sale of the May Baskets we packed
kare kits to provide to the children on the weekends. This was part of
our project in the United Ways Star Project Competition. Voting will be
held beginning on Monday, May 6th at 9 am until Friday, May 10th at 5 pm for
the best star project in the competition. We are hoping that everyone will

participating in the United Way's Community Builders Star Project Competition

their annual ice show on March 30th they allowed us to set up a fundraising

I am very proud to announce that
tonight our kare kits team was awarded $1000 in seed money from the United
Way Youth Venture sponsored by the United Way of North Central Massachusetts
and Mt Wachusett Community College! I would like to thank the panelists who
listened to my presentation tonight and for their support of Kylee's Kare
Kits for Kidz. A special thank you to Mrs. Gina Wironen & Mrs. Karin
Oliveira who told me about the Youth Venture and to Nicole Mello from
Youth Venture who helped me through the process the past few months. Without
your support this would not have been possible. Also thank you to all the
people involved in donating money to make these funds available! This money
will make it possible for our team to help more children. Thank you all so

include shirts, pants, shorts, skirts, dresses, sweatshirts & pants,
coats, sweaters and, pajamas.
Kylee’s
Kare Kits are distributed weekly to 47 children
in need in the Leominster public elementary schools. They consist of
non-perishable food items to help the children through the weekend. Every
dollar raised from this sale will go towards the purchase of food so that we
can help additional children. We appreciate your support! Thank
you!!
Thank you to everyone who helped
us with the clothing sale!! It was a success!! We have raised $361 to

Thank you to everyone who helped
us with the clothing sale to benefit Kylee's Kare Kits for Kidz on Saturday,
January 26th at the Sky View Middle School Winter Carnival. We raised $728
that day! Thanks to all who donated clothing, to Sky View Middle School for
allowing us to be a part of their event, to everyone who purchased
clothing and to our wonderfu family members and friends who helped us
set up the day before the event and worked with us that day! A special thanks
to the Doyle crew- Tammy, Sarah, Benjamin and Sean and friend Dan, Linda
Malatos, Becky & Olivia Gallo, Laura & Emily Brown and Lisa, Ava and
Chloe D'Eon!! Without all of your help my grandmother and I would never have
been able to accomplish this!!

I have been invited to be on Mayor
Mazzarella's LATV television show tonight at 6:30 pm. The show runs for one
hour from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm. He will be having three guests tonight. I
will be the second guest on the show so I won't be starting right at 6:30. We
will be discussing Kylee's Kare Kits for Kidz. Please tune in for an update
on how we are doing and what we are planning. If you have Comcast please tune
in on channel 8 and for Fios tune in on channel 34. If you can't access the
show on televsion there is live internet streaming at LATV's website which is www.leominster.tv.
If you go onto the site you will find the link in the upper right hand corner
to watch the show. Viewers can call into the show and ask questions or make
comments. The phone number is (978) 537-7760. I hope you are able to watch
and call in!

On January 26th from 10 am to 4 pm
we will be holding a clothing sale at the Sky View Middle School's Winter
Carnival. Anyone that would like to donate gently used childrens
clothing is asked to bring it to one of four drop off locations
during school hours beginning on Monday January 7th through Friday January
18th. Acceptable items include shirts, pants, skirts, dresses, sweatshirts,
sweatpants, coats, sweaters, pajamas, hats, gloves and mittens. PLEASE
NO SOCKS OR UNDERWEAR. The drop off locations are Southeast
Elementary School, Johnny Appleseed School, Northwest Elementary School or
Fallbrook Elementary School in Leominster. Every item will be sold for $1 and
all proceeds will be used to purchase food for the kare kits. We hope to see
you on the 26th!!

We are constantly on the look out
for coupons for the products that we put into the kare kits. If any of you
are members of BJ's we do a lot of shopping there and could use any extra
coupons that you don't use for the products we use. We also use manufacturer
coupons as well. BJ's will allow us to use both the manufacturers coupon as
well as their own BJ's coupon which means we save even more money. Some of
the products we use are: Chef Boy R dee products, Campbells Chicken Noodle
Soup, Ramen Noodles, Macaroni & Cheese, granola bars, Rice Krispie bars,
Oatmeal, juice boxes, fruit cups, pudding cups, applesauce cups, peanut
butter crackers, fruit snacks, individual serving size bags of chips,
pretzels, doritos..., individual serving size packages of cookies, crackers.....
Should you have coupons that you believe we could use please mail them to our
mailing address at Kylee's Kare Kits for Kidz 68 Main Street #564 Leominster,
MA 01453 or email us at kyleeskarekitsforkidz1@gmail.com and we
will respond as soon as possible. Thanks for helping us to help the

Happy New Year!
I'm so happy that our community,
my friends and family have done so much to help me to help the kidz
in this program. Thank you to everyone who has helped us in any way thus

We constantly have new children
that could benefit from the kare kits. As much as we would love to help everyone
we need the funds and food to do that. We welcome any donations both
monetary and of food to help us to be able to increase the number of children
we help. We have just increased to 44 children but have more needing our
help!
